Hoped to get more

Sunny Winter North Westerly.
at last a breeze....

Gotta take what's on offer,
 never trust the promised purple
from wind guru!
Midday it was gusting to 25/28 knots! I thought someone should get out since it was quite sunny, although maybe the cold weather put the other guys off. I think it dipped below 6°C. Matt txt to say he was hitting the water for a quick sail, by the time I hit the beach he had rigged his 4.7.  Another cold day but I had invested in a hood the day before (glad the winter wetsuit still fits) so only my fingers were numb today! Pretty much straight onshore and gusty - chose the 80l and 4.7 which was a good call, floated through the lulls and nicely powered when it was blowing. Backside smacks were the order of the day - pretty hard to do much else.  The wind never really fired on Sunday and shat itself  by 1.30pm the expected front must have completely passed through overnight which was a bummer. Still, had a nice gentle cruise around. Too bad the waves didn't materialise, better than sitting at home though.
The cold temperature drew quite a lot of energy and after hour and a half  we were really cold couldn't feel my fingers and ice cream pains on the head. We got cold from standing around in the breeze, went back on the water for about 15 minutes, but the wind chill was nuts, so we packed up and bailed home. Nice to be out, good to get wet

Is the ocean not big enough for ya!
You wanna fight me?

Our crazy weather day continues!

Crazy weather.....In short, brrrrrrrr.
Sunshine on Friday sitting on the beach and then this......
Today was crazy weather day. At 8:30 a Red warning went out for the Channel Islands. As the weather forecast put it "The beginning of the week will bring persistent and heavy outbreaks of sleet and snow with Northeast gale F8 to severe gale F9 with gusts to 65 mph winds. Still, better than nothing I suppose. Anyone fancy a quick sail. Looks like the forecast was right!. Think its time to build that snowman, if we dont get blown away!!

Snow blizzard and gale force winds
 causing carnage
The east wind straight from Siberia brought us cold ears and definitely no human surf conditions.  But there doesn't exist bad weather only bad wetsuits. TOOO cold for my blood.

Drive home along the west coast.
(Check out the bend on the pine trees from the prevailing winds)
